Museum Homecoming 2010
Dear Friend of the Museum,
On behalf of the U.S. Army Women’s Museum, it is my pleasure to invite you to our 2010 Army Women’s Museum Homecoming. So much is happening here—the staff is excited to have this opportunity to share new exhibits, special programs and all their work with you!
The Homecoming will give yesterday’s and today’s Army women an opportunity to gather, renew old friendships and make new ones. You will meet today’s soldiers and see how Fort Lee is rapidly expanding to become the Army’s premier logistics training and doctrine post.
We have spent the past few years working diligently to showcase and teach Army women’s history to an ever-increasing number of soldiers, civilians, and school children. The museum has been recognized for our extraordinary “Hands on History” educational programs. Our Museum received the Army Historical Foundation’s 2008 Museum of Excellence Award which recognizes the most outstanding museum of the Army’s 60 museums. We look forward to your viewing of our new exhibits, too.
The Friends of the Army Women’s Museum Association has been a huge support to us and they have graciously volunteered to help coordinate the Homecoming with us. Information will be updated periodically, so check back to the museum’s web site in the coming months.
“Come Home to Your History” and join us as we celebrate the museum’s 55 years of history and the 68th anniversary of the establishment of the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps. We look forward to seeing you soon!
